Kenmare (irisch An Neidín) ist eine Stadt im Süden des County Kerry in der Republik Irland mit 1.701 Einwohnern (Stand 2006). Sie ist stark vom Tourismus geprägt und ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Touren auf die Halbinseln Iveragh (Ring of Kerry) und Beara.

Die heutige Stadt wurde um 1670 von Sir William Petty, 1. Marquis of Lansdowne gegründet. Drei größere Straßen bilden ein Dreieck, in dem das Stadtzentrum liegt: William Street (heute Main Street), Henry Street (benannt nach dem Sohn Williams) und die Shelbourne Street, die nach dem Earl of Shelbourne benannt ist.

Die Besiedlung ist älter als die moderne Stadt. Am Ortsrand, am Ufer des Flüsschens Finnihy liegt Druid's Circle, ein Steinkreis mit 15 aufgestellten Steinen und einem Dolmen in der Mitte. Diese Kombination ist eine der größten ihrer Art in Irland. Von den Wikingern wird gesagt, sie hätten die Gegend heimgesucht. Auf wikingischen Ursprung soll auch die Bezeichnung Head of the Sea für Kenmare zurückgehen, was ins Gälische übersetzt Ceann Mara heißt. Daraus ist der angelsächsische Name Kenmare entstanden.
