Lucapa oder Lukapa ist eine Stadt im Nordosten Angolas und Hauptstadt der Provinz Lunda Norte. Sie hat etwa 85.000 Einwohner[2].

Die Einwohnerzahl gibt nur einen ungefähren Bevölkerungsstand wieder, da durch den Bürgerkrieg und Zwangsumsiedlungen, sowie Vertreibungen erhebliche Bevölkerungsfluktiationen während der letzten 15 Jahren zu verzeichnen waren.

Es gibt in der Umgebung Diamantenvorkommen, die von der Sociedade Mineira do Lucapa Lda abgebaut werden[3].
