MIMAROPA oder Bezirk IV-B ist ein philippinischer Bezirk. Der Name MIMAROPA ist ein Akronym, dass sich aus den Provinzen des Bezirkes zusammensetzt. Calapan ist das regionale Zentrum.

Geschichte

Am 17. Mai 2002 wurde der Bezirk Southern Tagalog in MIMAROPA und CALABARZON aufgeteilt. Nach einem Beschluss musste MIMAROPA am 23. Mai 2005 die Provinz Palawan an Western Visayas abgeben. Zugleich wurde MIMAROPA in MIMARO (MIndoro Occidental, Mindoro Oriental, MArinduque und ROmblon) umbenannt. Auf der offiziellen philippinischen Internetseite ist die Provinz Palawan noch aufgeführt unter der Region IV-B, und zwar mit dem Namen MIMAROPA.[1]
