Das Manhattan Life Insurance Building in New York
Das Manhattan Life Insurance Building war einer der ältesten Wolkenkratzer in New York City. Das Gebäude wurde 1894 fertiggestellt und löste das New York World Building als höchstes Gebäude der Welt ab. Es war der erste Wolkenkratzer der mit 106 Metern die damals magische 100-Metermarke überragte. Den Titel als höchstes Gebäude der Welt konnte das Manhattan Life Insurance Building bis 1899 halten, als es vom Park Row Building übertroffen wurde.
1930 musste der Wolkenkratzer dem Irving Trust Bank Headquarters Building weichen und wurde abgerissen.
