Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, benannt nach der Stadt Aberdeen in Schottland. Er wird von Mitgliedern des schottischen Clans Gordon getragen, s. auch Gordon (Adelsgeschlecht).

Stammsitz der Familie ist Haddo House bei Aberdeen, Schottland.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1916 für John Hamilton-Gordon, 7. Earl of Aberdeen geschaffen, der 1893 bis 1898 Generalgouverneur von Kanada und 1905 bis 1915 Lord Lieutenant of Ireland gewesen war.

Nachgeordnete Titel

Nachgeordnete Titel des Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair sind Earl of Aberdeen, Viscount of Formartine und Lord Haddo, Methlic, Tarves and Kellie (geschaffen 1682), die zur Peerage of Scotland gehören, Viscount Gordon (geschaffen 1814) und Earl of Haddo (geschaffen 1916). Die letztgenannten beiden Titel gehören zur Peerage of the United Kingdom.

Außerdem führt der Marquess den Titel eines Baronet, of Haddo, Aberdeenshire, der 1642 für John Gordon geschaffen wurde.

Die Erhebung zum Peer erfolgte für den dritten Baronet, der Lord Chancellor of Scotland war. Der vierte Earl, der neben vielen anderen Regierungsämtern auch das des Premierministers innehatte, erhielt zusätzlich den Titel Viscount Gordon, mit dem ein Sitz im House of Lords verbunden war.

Der Titelerbe führt den Höflichkeitstitel Earl of Haddo, dessen ältester Sohn denjenigen eines Viscount of Formartine.
