Metabolic Control Analysis

Metabolic Control Analysis (MCA) ist eine Berechnungsmethode, um Änderungen der Flüsse und Intermediatkonzentrationen in metabolischen Netzen zu analysieren. Dabei werden auch die Effekte der verschiedenen daran beteiligten Enzyme berücksichtigt.

Die Grundlagen der Metabolic Control Analysis wurden Anfang der 1970er Jahre unabhängig voneinander von Reinhart Heinrich und Tom Rapoport an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin sowie Henrick Kacser und Jim Burns an der University of Edinburgh ausgearbeitet und veröffentlicht.
