Microscope

Microscope ist der Name eines Kleinsatelliten, den Frankreich 2012 in eine sonnensynchrone Umlaufbahn in 710 km Höhe bringen will. Er soll das Äquivalenzprinzip mit einer Genauigkeit, die besser ist als 10-15, überprüfen. Dazu trägt er zwei Körper aus unterschiedlichen Materialien, deren Falleigenschaften er im Schwerefeld der Erde beobachtet.

Microscope wiegt ca. 120 kg, liefert eine elektrische Leistung von 50 W und trägt eine Nutzlast von 40 kg. Die Lageregelung übernehmen elektrische Triebwerke. Der Satellit basiert auf dem MYRIADE-Satellitenbus (wie z. B. PARASOL).
