On-Board-Unit

Die On-Board-Unit (OBU) ist ein in Fahrzeugen eingebautes Funkgerät, das Fahrzeugdaten - zum Beispiel Kennzeichen und Standort - an einen Transponder weitergibt. Dabei ist die OBU selbst ein Transponder, das heißt, dass ein Datenaustausch automatisch und nur auf Anforderung eines der beteiligten Geräte stattfindet.
