Order of the Star of Ghana (COSG) ist die höchste Auszeichnung des Staates Ghana, die auch posthum verliehen wird. Das Ordensband dieses Ordens hat die Farben der ghanaischen Flagge von links nach rechts in der Reihenfolge Rot, Gelb, Grün. In der Vergangenheit wurden besonders die Jahrestage der Unabhängigkeit (6. März 1957) Ghanas verwendet, um die Ehrung besonderer Personen mit dem Order of the Star of Ghana vorzunehmen.
Im Jahr 1977, also zum 20. Jahrestag der Unabhängigkeit Ghanas, war unter anderem Prinz Charles unter den Empfängern des höchsten ghanaischen Ordens.
Präsident Jerry Rawlings verlieh den Order of the Star of Ghana zum 40. Jahrestag, 1997, unter anderem an Ebenezer Ako-Adjei.
Präsident John Agyekum Kufuor nutzte im Jahr 2007 den 50. Jahrestag, um 31 Personen der ghanaischen Geschichte und der Weltgeschichte mit dem höchsten Orden Ghanas zu ehren.
