Osric (Northumbria)

Osric von Northumbria († 29. Mai 729) (nicht zu verwechseln mit dem früheren König Osric von Deira), war in den Jahren 718-729 König von Northumbria.

Osric war offenbar ein Sohn des Aldfrith und jüngerer Bruder von Osred I. und folgte als König 718 auf Coenred. Osric stammte aus dem Haus Aethelric, dessen letzter Vertreter er war. Als seinen Nachfolger bestimmte er im Jahre 729 kurz vor seinem Tod Ceolwulf, den Bruder des Coenred aus dem Haus Ocga, das damit endgültig die bisherige Dynastie beerbte. Osric fiel am 29. Mai einem Mordanschlag zum Opfer.
