Piotta ist ein Dorf im Bezirk Leventina des Kantons Tessin in der Schweiz. Es gehört zur politischen Gemeinde Quinto.

Wie das Nachbarsdorf Ambrì bleibt Piotta im Winter mehrere Monate ohne Sonne.

Piotta ist zusammen mit Ambrì vor allem dank seines Eishockey-Clubs (HC Ambrì-Piotta) bekannt, welcher in der Nationalliga A spielt und somit auf nationaler Ebene bekannt ist.

In Piotta befindet sich die steilste Standseilbahn Europas (maximale Steigung 87,8 %), welche die Talsohle mit dem Ritomsee im Pioratal verbindet.
