RS Components GmbH, kurz RS (von engl. Radiospares, „Radioersatzteile“), ist ein Distributor für Elektronik, Elektromechanik und Automation mit Sitz in Mörfelden-Walldorf nahe Frankfurt am Main und einem Distributionszentrum in Bad Hersfeld.

RS Components ist die deutsche Tochtergesellschaft der 1967 gegründeten Electrocomponents plc mit Sitz in Großbritannien, deren Geschichte wiederum auf den 1937 gegründeten britischen Ersatzteillieferanten Radiospares zurückgeht.

Geschichte

Das Unternehmen wurde 1991 gegründet[2] und gehört zur Electrocomponents plc, die weltweit 26 Niederlassungen hat, unter anderem in Europa, Nord-Amerika, Süd-Amerika, Asien und Afrika. Zusammen erwirtschafteten die Gesellschaften im Geschäftsjahr 2006 einen Umsatz von 1,25 Milliarden Euro.

Das deutsche Logistikzentrum in Bad Hersfeld wurde 2003 eröffnet und versendet täglich bis zu 5000 Lieferungen, größtenteils innerhalb Deutschlands, Österreichs und den BENELUX-Staaten.

RS versendet ausschließlich an gewerbliche Kunden und hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, mit möglichst kurzen Lieferzeiten den kleinen und mittleren Mengenbedarf abzudecken. Der jährliche Printkatalog umfasst zirka 130.000 Produkte. Im Internet oder per E-Procurement werden über 500.000 Produkte angeboten, zum Teil mit Artikeln der internationalen Schwestergesellschaften.
