Der SC Sand (vollständiger Name: Sportclub Sand) ist ein deutscher Sportverein aus Willstätt, Ortenaukreis (Baden-Württemberg). Gegründet wurde der Verein am 11. August 1946. Der Verein bietet die Sportarten Fußball, Turnen, Judo und Qi Gong an. Seit 1989 gibt es eine Jedermänner-Abteilung, in der Spaß am Sport und Kameradschaftspflege im Mittelpunkt stehen. Die erste Frauenfußball-Mannschaft spielt nach dem Abstieg im Jahre 2011 in der Regionalliga Süd.

Frauenfußball

Geschichte

Die Frauenfußball-Abteilung wurde im Juli 1980 gegründet. Zwei Jahre später nahm man am Spielbetrieb teil. Schon nach zwei Jahren stieg man in die Verbandsliga Südbaden, damals die höchste Spielklasse, auf. Nach drei Bezirkspokalsiegen und zwei Bezirksmeisterschaften in der Halle wurde man 1992 erstmals Meister der Verbandsliga. In der Aufstiegsrunde scheiterte man jedoch. 1996 wiederholte man die Meisterschaft und auch in der Aufstiegsrunde war man erfolgreich. Auf Anhieb erreichte man Platz sechs. Da die Bundesliga verkleinert wurde musste man in eine Relegation, in der man sich nicht durchsetzen konnte.

Der SC Sand wurde in die neu geschaffene Oberliga Baden-Württemberg aufgenommen. Bei der ersten Teilnahme am DFB-Pokal erreichte man auf Anhieb das Achtelfinale. Durch eine 4:1-Niederlage beim VfL Sindelfingen schied man aus dem Wettbewerb aus. Als der Süddeutsche Fußballverband im Jahre 2000 eine Regionalliga einrichtete war der SC Sand dabei. Nach der Vizemeisterschaft 2002 konnte man 2003 die Meisterschaft erringen. In der Aufstiegsrunde scheiterte man jedoch am Hamburger SV und dem 1. FC Saarbrücken. 2004 wurde die 2. Bundesliga gegründet und der SC Sand belegt in dieser Mittelfeldplätze. Nach der Saison 2010/11 mussten die Sanderinnen als Vorletzter absteigen.
