Spicebird ist ein freier Personal Information Manager, der auf dem Code von Mozilla Thunderbird basiert.

Entwickelt wird Spicebird von der indischen Software-Firma Synovel, 2008 wurden die ersten Beta-Versionen veröffentlicht. Die Software hat das Beta-Stadium noch nicht verlassen.

Die Software steht in keiner Verbindung zum Mozilla-Projekt, es nutzt ausschließlich den Code des Projekts für eine Eigenentwicklung.

Funktionsumfang

Spicebird bietet Standard-Funktionen wie E-Mail-Verwaltung, Lesen von RSS-Feeds, Kontaktverwaltung, Kalender und Aufgaben. Aber auch Instant Messaging und das Anzeigen von Google-Gadgets werden unterstützt. Wie Thunderbird kann Spicebird auch mit Add-ons erweitert werden.[1]
