Der Tongue River ist ein 426 Kilometer langer rechter Nebenfluss des Yellowstone River in den US-Bundesstaaten Montana und Wyoming.

Der Tongue River entspringt in den Bighorn Mountains im zentralen Wyoming. Nach Sheridan durchquert er die Grenze zu Montana und bildet die östliche Grenze des Northern Cheyenne-Indianerreservat. Nahe der Stadt Miles City mündet er in den Yellowstone River.
