Die Universität Kapstadt (Afrikaans: Universiteit van Kaapstad; Englisch: University of Cape Town) wurde im Jahre 1829 gegründet und ist somit Südafrikas älteste und berühmteste Universität. Sie befindet sich an den Flanken eines der Gipfel des Tafelberg-Massivs, dem Devil’s Peak. Zur Zeit besuchen 21.700 Studenten diese Lehranstalt, wobei 50 % der Studenten Weiße und die restlichen 50 % Schwarze und Farbige sind.
