War Production Board

Das War Production Board (kurz: WPB) war ein Gremium der US-amerikanischen Regierung, das 1942 nach dem Kriegseintritt der USA auf Anordnung des Präsidenten Franklin D. Roosevelt gegründet wurde. Zweck der Einrichtung war es, die Ressourcen an Material, Personal und Produktionsmitteln so einzuteilen, dass eine effektive Rüstungsproduktion aufgebaut und unterhalten werden konnte. Vorsitzender war bis 1944 Donald M. Nelson, der dann von Julias A. Krug abgelöst wurde.

Nach der Kapitulation Japans im November 1945 wurde das Gremium wieder aufgelöst.

Zu einem Skandal kam es noch, als aufgedeckt wurde, dass die UdSSR Spione in dieses Gremium eingeschleust hatte. Namentlich bekannt wurden folgende Personen:
