Uwe Blab (* 26. März 1962 in München) war einer der ersten deutschen Spieler in der US-Basketball-Profiliga NBA. Wegen seiner roten Haare und beeindruckenden Größe von über 2,10 m bekam er den Spitznamen „Burning Skyscraper“.

Als Sohn eines Rechtsanwalts wurde Blab mit 15 Jahren von einem US-Team entdeckt und als Austauschschüler mit in die USA genommen. Dort absolvierte er die Effingham Highschool und die Indiana University, für deren Teams er auf der Center-Position agierte.

Blab wurde 1985 an 17. Stelle mit vielen Vorschusslorbeeren und hohen Erwartungen von den Dallas Mavericks gedrafted. Diese konnte er jedoch nie erfüllen, weswegen er nach 4 Jahren Dallas in seinem letzten Jahr zu den Golden State Warriors wechselte, bevor er von diesen zu den San Antonio Spurs getraded wurde.

Danach beendete er seine NBA-Karriere und wechselte zu Club Basket Neapel nach Italien. 1991 unterschrieb er bei Alba Berlin, wo er 1993 seine Karriere beendete.

Anschließend zog Blab nach Texas, wo er mit seiner Frau und den 3 Kindern auf einer Ranch lebt.
