Boston Scientific (BSC) ist ein weltweiter Hersteller, Entwickler und Verkäufer von medizinischen Produkten aus den Vereinigten Staaten. Das Unternehmen ist im S&P 500 gelistet. Der Hauptsitz des Unternehmens befindet sich in Natick, Massachusetts. Gegründet wurde BSC im Jahre 1979.

Das Unternehmen ist auf den medizinischen Gebieten der Neuromodulation, neurovaskulare Intervention, Elektrophysiologie[1], Endoskopie, Onkologie, Urologie und Gynäkologie tätig.

Boston Scientific ist bekannt für die Entwicklung des Medikamenten-freisetzenden Stents Taxus, einem Produkt zur Behandlung von Gefäßstenosen.

Boston Scientifics Hauptkonkurrenten sind in den Vereinigten Staaten die Unternehmen Johnson & Johnson und Medtronic.

Das Unternehmen erwarb den langjährigen Konkurrenten Guidant für rund 28 Milliarden Dollar. Das frühere Unternehmen Guidant wurde zwischen den Unternehmen Boston Scientific und Abbott Laboratories aufgeteilt.[2]
