Aaron ben Joseph

Aaron ben Joseph (* um 1260 in Sudak, Krim; † um 1320) war ein karäischer Schriftgelehrter.

Leben

Aaron ben Joseph war Arzt und lebte in Konstantinopel. Er schrieb Kommentare zum Pentateuch, zu den früheren Propheten und den späteren Propheten und zu den Psalmen und erarbeitete ein grammatisch-exegetisches Handbuch. Auch schuf Aaron ben Joseph eine karäische Gebetsordnung und dichtete für alle Wochenabschnitte der mosaischen Bücher kurze Auszüge, die er in sein Gebetsbuch aufnahm.
