Adolph Marx

Adolph Marx (* 18. Februar 1915 in Köln; † 1. November 1965 ebenda) war erster Bischof des katholischen Bistums Brownsville in Texas, USA.

Leben

Adolph Marx wurde 1915 in Köln geboren. Ausgewandert in die USA, wurde er dort 1940 für das Bistum Corpus Christi zum Priester geweiht. 1956 wurde er durch Papst Pius XII. zum Weihbischof der selben Diözese ernannt und durch Bischof Mariano Simon Garriga am 9. Oktober 1956 geweiht. Als Titularbistum erhielt er Citrus. 1965 ernannte ihn Papst Paul VI. zum Bischof des neugegründeten Bistums Brownsville. Bereits am 1. November 1965 verstarb Adolph Marx plötzlich bei einem Besuch seiner Heimat in Köln.[1]
