Dreams ist ein deutscher Kurzfilm von Amrita Cheema. Das Drehbuch von Amrita Cheema und Ivica Zdravkovic beruht auf einer Idee von Amrita Cheema.

Handlung

Dreams handelt von Träumen und Sehnsüchten zweier Mädchen mit verschiedenen Schicksalen: Die Eltern der kleinen Lea erfahren mit Schrecken an ihrem siebten Geburtstag, dass ihre einzige Tochter an Krebs leidet. Die Zeit ist sehr knapp, denn das Schicksal der kleinen Lea schlägt ein zweites Mal zu. Als Leas Eltern bei einem tragischen Unfall ums Leben kommen ist Lea gerade mal 7 Jahre alt.

Im Krankenhaus, voll Einsamkeit und Sehnsucht und nur mit einem einzigen Traum verbringt Lea ihren 13. Geburtstag. Leas Krankenschwester zeigt wenig Interesse an dem Leid der Krebspatientin und kümmert sich stattdessen – sogar während ihrer Arbeitszeit – nur um die Belange ihrer selbstbewussten Tochter Simone. Die ehrgeizige Simone ist nur von einem Traum besessen: Erfolg, Ruhm und Geld; dass dabei die Familie vernachlässigt wird, spielt für die egoistische Simone keine Rolle.

Dreams behandelt zwei verschiedene Charaktere mit zwei verschiedenen Träumen: Wovon Lea träumt ist für Simone eine Selbstverständlichkeit. Die Träume Simones dagegen, sind für Lea unerreichbar.
