Earl Strom

Earl „Yogi“ Strom (* 15. Dezember 1927 in Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; † 10. Juni 1994 ebenda) war ein Basketball-Schiedsrichter der National Basketball Association (NBA) und wurde 1995 in die Basketball Hall of Fame aufgenommen. Er ist damit einer von insgesamt 13 Schiedsrichtern, die dort aufgenommen wurden.

Karriere

Strom war über einen Zeitraum von 32 Jahren als Schiedsrichter in der US-Profiliga aktiv. In seiner Karriere wirkte er in mehr als 2400 Saisonspielen und 295 Spielen in Play-offs als Schiedsrichter mit. Darunter zählen auch 29 Spiele in NBA-Finalspielen und Finals der ABA. In den Jahren 1967 und 1968 bekleidete Strom das Amt des so genannten NBA crew chief, eines leitenden Offiziellen im Schiedsrichtergespann aus drei Personen.
