Geoffrey Arthur Holland Pearson (* 25. Dezember 1927 in Toronto; † 18. März 2008 in Ottawa) war ein kanadischer Botschafter.
Leben
Die Eltern von Geoffrey Arthur Holland Pearson waren Maryon Pearson [wp 1] und Lester Pearson[1]
Geoffrey Arthur Holland Pearson trat 1952 in den auswärtigen Dienst. Er studierte am Trinity College School [wp 2], an der University of Toronto und der University of Oxford. Pearson war an den Botschaften in Paris und Mexiko-Stadt, sowie der High Commission in Neu-Delhi akkreditiert.
Ende 1983 wurde Pearson als besondere Vertreter der Regierung von Pierre Trudeau für Rüstungskontrolle ernannt, und 1984 wurde er zum Canadian Institute for International Affairs abgeordnet. Von Januar 1985 bis 1991 war er Geschäftsführer der Denkfabrik, Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security.
Pearson war Vorsitzender der United Nations Association in Canada [wp 3]. 2000 wurde Pearson Offizier im Order of Canada.
Geoffrey Arthur Holland Pearson wurde von seiner Frau, Landon Pearson [wp 4]und ihre fünf Kinder, darunter Patricia Pearson [wp 5] und Michael Pearson (Canadian diplomat) [wp 6] überlebt.[2]
