Carole Ruth Terry (* 1948) ist eine US-amerikanische Organistin, Cembalistin und Musikpädagogin.

Leben

Carole Terry erhielt ihre musikalische Ausbildung an der Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas (Orgel bei Robert T. Anderson, Cembalo bei Larry Palmer), der Eastman School of Music (Orgel bei David Craighead) und der Stanford University, wo sie 1977 zum Doctor of Musical Arts promovierte. Ihre Lehrer in Stanford waren Herbert Nanney (Orgel), Margaret Fabrizio (Cembalo) und Joan Benson (Fortepiano und Clavichord). 1979 erhielt sie eine Professur für Orgel und Cembalo an der University of Washington in Seattle. Von 2000 bis 2003 war sie Resident Organist und Kurator der Fisk-Orgel in der Benaroya Hall in Seattle, dem Sitz des Seattle Symphony Orchestra.

Ihre internationale Konzerttätigkeit als Organistin und Cembalistin führte sie durch die Vereinigten Staaten, Europa und Asien. Darüber hinaus ist sie ein vielgefragtes Jurymitglied bei internationalen Orgelwettbewerben und Kursdozentin im Bereich historischer Aufführungspraxis.
