Great Ethiopian Run

Der Great Ethiopian Run ist ein Volks- und Straßenlauf in Addis Abeba, der seit 2001 stattfindet. Das als Teil der Great-Run-Serie von Nova International ins Leben gerufene Rennen wird derzeit von der NGO Great Ethiopian Run organisiert, deren Vorsitzender Haile Gebrselassie ist, und ist mit mehr als 30.000 Teilnehmern die größte Laufsportveranstaltung Äthiopiens.

Bedingt durch die Lage Addis Abebas auf 2.355 m Höhe sind die Zeiten nicht ganz so schnell, wie sie von den beteiligten Athleten auf niedriger gelegenen Kursen erzielt werden.
