Hawraman

Hawraman (kurdisch ‏هه‌ورامان‎ oder Hewraman, persisch ‏اورامان‎, Ōrāmān oder Owrāmān) ist eine Region in Kurdistan.

Die Region im irakisch-iranischen Grenzgebiet besteht aus dem Gebirgsland zwischen dem Dreieck Halabdscha-Marivan-Paveh. Es erstreckt sich 50 km von Marivan in südöstlicher Richtung und beherbergt mehrere Berge über 2000 Meter. Der höchste Gipfel ist der Kūh-e Taḵt mit 2.985 Metern.

Die Täler Hawramans werden hauptsächlich von den Goran und Jaff-Kurden bewohnt. Die verbreiteten Sprachen sind Hawrami, ein Dialekt des Gorani, und Sorani. Hawraman gilt als Zentrum der Gorani-Kultur sowie der Schnittpunkt des heterodoxen und orthodoxen Islams in Kurdistan. Sowohl die Naqschbandi-Tariqa als auch der im Islam als häretisch geltende Ahl-e Haqq sind in Hawraman tief verwurzelt.
