Helena Flam

Helena Flam (* 2. Mai 1951) ist eine schwedische Soziologin, die als Professorin an der Universität Leipzig lehrt.

Flam emigrierte 1969 aus Polen nach Schweden.[1] Nach dem ersten Studienabschluss in Soziologie an der Universität Lund (1975) wurde Flam 1982 an der Columbia University zum Ph.D. promoviert. Es folgten Forschungen an der Universität Uppsala und am Max-Planck-Institut für Gesellschaftsforschung in Köln und eine Assistenzprofessur an der Universität Konstanz. Seit 1993 ist Flam Professorin für Soziologie an der Universität Leipzig.

Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind: Soziologie der Emotionen; Politische Soziologie und Soziologie der sozialen Bewegungen; Historische Soziologie; Wirtschaftssoziologie.
