Geneviève Castrée (* 1981 in Loretteville, heute ein Stadtteil von Québec) ist eine kanadische Comic-Zeichnerin, Illustratorin und Musikerin.

Leben & Werk

Geneviève Castrées Buchdebüt Lait Frappé erschien 2000, pünktlich zum Internationalen Comicfestival im französischen Angoulême. Dort war sie Teil einer Gruppe Comicschaffender aus der kanadischen Provinz Quebec. Mit ihren damals 18 Jahren gehörte sie zu den jüngsten Teilnehmern des Festivals und avancierte dort zum Shooting Star.

Für den deutschen Verlag Reprodukt entwickelte sie exklusiv eine neue Geschichte, wodurch Die Fabrik entstanden ist. Das zuletzt veröffentlichte Buch Pamplemoussi enthält zudem eine eigens dafür produzierte LP, die den Comic akustisch begleitet.[1]

Beiträge von Geneviève Castrée sind außerdem in den Magazinen "Kramers Ergot #4", "The Drama #5" und in "Drawn & Quarterly Showcase #3" erschienen.

Geneviève Castrée lebt und arbeitet in den USA, im pazifischen Nordwesten.
