Mpudu Junior Mafogo ist der Bürgermeister.[1]
Der Gemeindename leitet sich ab vom Sepediwort für den Marula-Baum der dort wächst. Aus dessen Früchten wird der Amarulalikör hergestellt.[2]
Ortschaften in der Gemeinde sind: Banereng Ba Letsoalo, Banereng Ba Sekororo, Diphuti, Hoedspruit, Klaserie, Letaba, Mametja, Maruleng, Naphuno, Ofcolaco, Olifantstenk, Palmloop und Trichardtsdal.
