Chaya Arbel

Chaya Arbel (hebräisch ‏חיה ארבל‎; * 18. Juni 1921 in Nürnberg; † 2007) war eine israelische Komponistin.

Nachdem sie 1936 während ihres Musikstudiums aus Deutschland nach Palästina emigrierte, arbeitete sie 25 Jahre im Kibbuz Hamapil. Dann entschloss sie sich, ihr Studium bei Leon Schidlowsky zu beenden. Für ihr Werk erhielt sie mehrere Preise. In Deutschland ist vor allem ihre Vertonung des Tagebuchs der Anne Frank bekannt, außerdem schrieb sie diverse Stücke für Orchester und Instrumentalmusik (ACUM-Preis für „Dialog für Klarinette und Orchester“).
