Das Raschèr Saxophone Quartet ist ein professionelles Saxophonquartett in der klassischen Besetzung mit Sopran-, Alt-, Tenor- und Baritonsaxophon.
Mitglieder des Quartetts sind: Christine Rall (Sopransaxophon), Elliott Riley (Altsaxophon), Bruce Weinberger (Tenorsaxophon) und Kenneth Coon (Baritonsaxophon).
Geschichte
Sigurd Raschèr (1907-2001) gründete 1969 zusammen mit seiner Tochter Carina (Karin) in Amerika das Raschèr Saxophone Quartet. Gastspielreisen brachten diese Besetzung in den 1970er Jahren erstmals in die BRD, wo es die Formation "Saxophonquartett" nach 1945 bis in die Mitte der 1970er Jahre im deutschen Kulturbetrieb noch nicht gab.
Seit 1969 ist das Raschèr Saxophon Quartet regelmäßig in den bedeutendsten Konzertsälen der Vereinigten Staaten, Asiens und Europas aufgetreten: Carnegie Hall und Lincoln Center New York, Kennedy Center Washington D.C., Opéra Bastille Paris, Royal Festival Hall London, Philharmonie Cologne, Finlandia-Halle Helsinki, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Schauspielhaus Berlin, Wiener Musikverein, Tonhalle Zürich, Parco della Musica Rome, Dewan Filharmonik Petronas Kuala Lumpur, National Concert Hall Taipei u.a..
