George „Joie“ Chitwood (* 14. April 1912 in Denison; † 3. Januar 1988 in Tampa Bay) war ein US-amerikanischer Autorennfahrer.

Joie Chitwood startete einmal in seiner Karriere bei einem Rennen zur Weltmeisterschaft der Formel 1. Er startete am 30. Mai 1950 bei den 500 Meilen von Indianapolis auf einem Kurtis Kraft 2000-Offenhauser - dieses Rennen zählte zwischen 1950 und 1960 zur Weltmeisterschaft - und erreichte mit einem Rückstand von zwei Runden auf den Sieger Johnnie Parsons den fünften Rang. Diesen musste er sich jedoch mit Tony Bettenhausen teilen, der den Wagen in Runde 78 übernahm (Fahrerwechsel waren zu dieser Zeit erlaubt).
