[2] [3] The Joker ist ein Song der Steve Miller Band aus dem Jahr 1973, der von Ahmet Ertegün, Steve Miller und Eddie Curtis geschrieben wurde. Das Stück hat eine Länge von 4:41, und die Single erschien bei Capitol Records. Der Produzent war Steve Miller.

Anfang des Jahres 1974 erreichte der Song in den USA die Spitze der Billboard Single-Charts. 1990 wurde das Stück in einer Werbung von Levi Strauss & Co. verwendet; der Titel stieg im September für zwei Wochen auf Platz 1 der UK Top 40[4] und erreichte auch in einigen anderen Ländern die Spitze der Hitparade.[5][6]

Die Zeile Really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree / Lovey dovey, lovey dovey all the time bezieht sich auf den The Clovers-Klassiker Lovey, Dovey aus dem Jahr 1954.

Eine lizenzierte deutsche Version ("Die Gute") wurde von 2010 Franz K. vorgetragen.
