Unicer ist ein Getränkehersteller und der größte Bierproduzent Portugals.[2] Er ist Eigentümer der Biermarken Super Bock, Cristal, Cheers, Cool Beer und Clok und offizieller Vertriebspartner der Marken Carlsberg, Tuborg, Guinness, Tetley's und Kilkenny in Portugal. Neben Bier stellt er auch Mineralwasser, Weine, Fruchtsäfte, Softdrinks, Apfelmost und Kaffee her.[3]

Geschichte

Die Firma Unicer – União Cervejeira E.P. ging im Jahre 1977 durch den Zusammenschluss der bereits in den Jahren 1972 und 1973 verstaatlichten Brauereien CUFP, Copeja und Imperial hervor. 1990 wurde sie privatisiert.[4]

Weil sie nicht mehr nur Bier vertrieb und somit die Bezeichnung Brauerei zu Missverständnissen führte, wurde ihr Name zum 1. Januar 2001 von Unicer – União Cervejeira E.P. nach Unicer – Bebidas de Portugal, SA geändert.[5]
