Das Chondroblastom ( auch Codman-Tumor genannt) ist eine gutartige Form des Knochentumors. Es entsteht meist an der Epiphyse der langer Röhrenknochen und tritt bei 1-2 % der Jugendlichen auf.[1] Die häufigsten Lokalisationen sind das distale Femur und die proximale Tibia.

Der langsam wachsende Tumor macht oft durch Schmerzen auf sich aufmerksam.[2] Obwohl es sich um einen als "gutartig" angesehenen Tumor handelt, sind bei manchen Patienten Lungenmetastasen beobachtet worden.[3]

Feingeweblich zeigt dieser scharf umgrenzte Tumor chondroblastenartige Zellen und Riesenzellen.[1],

Die Therapie erfolgt in aller Regel operativ durch Ausräumung des Tumors und sofern notwendig Auffüllen des entstandenen Defektes mittel Spongiosaplastik. Rezidive oder maligne Entartung sind anschließend selten.[1][3]
