David Held

David Held (* 1951) ist ein britischer Politikwissenschaftler.

Zusammen mit Daniele Archibugi spielt er eine Schlüsselrolle in der Erforschung des Weltbürgertums. Außerdem ist er Experte auf dem Gebiet der Globalisierung. Er ist Professor für Politische Wissenschaften und Co-Director des Center for the Study of Global Governance an der London School of Economics (LSE).

Jürgen Habermas sagte über Helds 2007 erschienenes Buch Soziale Demokratie im globalen Zeitalter: „Eine seltene Kombination aus soziologischer Imagination, tiefgründiger Analyse und solider empirischer Grundlage, die in eine konstruktive politische Perspektive mündet: die brillante Synthese von zehn Jahren Forschungsarbeit.“

Im März 2011 wurde bekannt, dass David Held die Doktorarbeit von Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi betreut hat.[1]
