Flottenmanagement oder Flottensteuerung (engl. Fleet Management) ist das Verwalten, Planen, Steuern und Kontrollieren von Fahrzeugflotten (Fuhrpark). Dabei werden Wegstrecken von Fahrzeugen (LKW, PKW, Schiff, Bahn), unter Einbeziehung bestimmter Einflussparameter, aufeinander abgestimmt und festgelegt. Probleme sollen von einem Flottenmanagement frühzeitig erkannt, behoben oder von vornherein umgangen werden.

Heute wird oft vom digitalem Flottenmanagement gesprochen, gemeint ist damit eine Software, die mit GPS-Systemen und rechnergestützen Auftragsvorschlägen, sowie digitalen Darstellungen, den Disponenten unterstützt. Entlastung der Disposition, optimierte Wegstreckenplanung und damit einhergehende Kostensenkungen sind Hauptziele des Flottenmanagement.

Anwendungen

Für den Begriff "Flottenmanagement" gibt es keine feste Definition. Viele Anbieter welche Flottenmanagement anbieten, haben unterschiedliche Begriffs-Auffassungen. Flottenmanagement beinhaltet in der Regel die Fuhrparkverwaltung und das Controlling.

Hauptsächlich kommt Flottenmanagement in Firmen mit einem größeren Bestand an Dienstwagen, Speditionen, Taxidiensten, Autovermietungen und Rettungsorganisationen zum Einsatz. Grundsätzlich spricht man von Flottenmanagement, wenn man täglich viele Fahrzeuge zu koordinieren hat.

Zunehmend mehr setzen sich webbasierende Lösungen durch. Diese sind u.a. auch für Serviceorganisationen im Umfeld des Handwerks interessant.
