Gottfried Heinrich Bach

Gottfried Heinrich Bach (* 26. Februar 1724 in Leipzig; † 12. Februar 1763 in Naumburg) war der erstgeborene Sohn aus der zweiten Ehe Johann Sebastian Bachs mit Anna Magdalena Wilcke. Er war geistig behindert und lebte nach dem Tod seines Vaters bei seiner Schwester Elisabeth und seinem Schwager Johann Christoph Altnikol. Möglicherweise stammt von ihm ein kleines Klavierstück sowie die Melodie der Aria So oft ich meine Tobackspfeife aus dem Klavierbüchlein für Anna Magdalena Bach.

Erwähnt wird er auch in der Chronik der Bach-Familie, die Johann Sebastian Bach verfasst hatte: „...inclinirt gleichfalls zur Musik, inspecie zum Clavier.“ Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach ergänzt: „War ein großes Genie, welches aber nicht entwickelt wurde.“
