Alternative Investments

Alternative Investments ist ein Marketing-Oberbegriff für Kapitalanlagen und Anlagestrategien, die über die klassischen Geldanlagen (z. B. Aktien, verzinsliche Wertpapiere sowie Geldmarktpapiere) hinausgehen und versuchen, bei jeder Marktentwicklung, also auch bei sinkenden Märkten (Bärenmarkt), Gewinne zu erzielen.

Beispiele für alternative Investments

Bekannte Beispiele für alternative Investments sind Hedge-Fonds und nicht-öffentlich gehandelte Unternehmensbeteiligungen (privates Beteiligungskapital, private equity). Neben diesen zählen jedoch auch Investmentfonds die z. B. in Futures und Optionen investieren (Managed Futures, Derivate Finanzinstrumente) zu den alternativen Investments, ebenso Credit Funds.
