Industrial IT

Industrielle Informationstechnik (engl.: Industrial IT) ist ein Teilgebiet der Informationstechnologie (IT). Sie rückt mehr und mehr ins Zentrum der informatischen Forschung, da sie als Bindeglied zwischen den einzelnen Produktions- und Fertigungsprozessen bei zunehmendem Automatisierungsdruck eine Schlüsselfunktion einnimmt. Zentrale Ziele bestehen darin, aufeinander folgende Produktions- oder Fertigungsschritte stärker zu verknüpfen, Planung und Handhabung der Prozesse durch Unterstützung der IT weitgehend automatisch zu betreiben und schließlich auch Diversifizierung mit ihren komplexen Mechanismen der Teile- und Produktpflege mit Automatismen zu hinterlegen. So werden die betriebswirtschaftlichen Integrationsprozesse (horizontal, vertikal, lateral) in der Industriellen IT informatisch abgebildet.

Besonderes Augenmerk liegt in der industriellen IT-Forschung dabei auf Kollaborationen und Firmenzusammenschlüsse. Hier müssen gewachsene IT-Landschaften mit einander verwoben werden, die oft nicht vereinbar erscheinen. Moderne Integrationstechniken bestehen hier oft darin mit Serviceorientierten Architekturen IT-Integrationen durch perfekte Abkapselung einzelner IT-Dienste weiter nutzen zu können. Im weiteren Verlauf der Integration kann dann für solche Dienste Schritt für Schritt ein Austausch durch geeignetere und allgemeinere Dienste die Obsoleszenz erzielt werden. Ein weiteres Problem in der IT-Integration besteht in der Zusammenfassung der Informationssysteme und Datenbanken. Hier lassen sich wesentliche Prozesse mit Ontologischen Technologien automatisieren.

Industrielle IT stellt eine Zusammenfassung von industriellen IT-Anwendungen dar. Sie soll es ermöglichen Informationen in Industrieanwendungen zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort verfügbar zu haben und in den konkreten Anwendungen und Prozessen zu nutzen. Dabei stehen horizontale, vertikale und laterale Integrationen im Vordergrund. So sollen insbesondere Informationen sowohl innerhalb einer Industrieanlage als auch standort-, prozess- und ggf. auch unternehmenübergreifend durchgängig und transparent ausgetauscht werden können.

Wesentlich sind dabei geeignete IT-Infrastrukturen zur Datenerfassung, -verteilung, -strukturierung und -präsentation in fast allen Bereichen der Industrie zu gestalten. So zählen hierzu einfache Qualitätsprüfungen und komplexe ganze Fertigungsstraßen. Diese reichen bis in die Verfahrenstechnik, der Energie- und Wasserversorgung, der Medizintechnik, der Landwirtschaft und den Umweltschutz. Industrielle IT wendet sich an die Systemplanung und Projektierung, Systemintegration, Systemtest, Systemsimulation und Verifikation und an das After-Sales-Management. Anforderungen an die Industrielle IT wie Safety, Security, Plattformunabhängigkeit, Echtzeitfähigkeit, Skalierbarkeit sind z.Z. neue Forschungsschwerpunkte.

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt ist die Nutzbarmachung von Informationstechnologien in der industriellen Automatisierungstechnik.
