Integral Institute

Das Integral Institute ist eine 1998 von dem amerikanischen Philosophen, Psychologen und Mystiker Ken Wilber gegründete Denkfabrik mit dem Ziel, eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenfassung und Integration unterschiedlicher Standpunkte auf den wichtigsten Feldern des Wissens zu erreichen und hieraus praktikable Konzepte zu erarbeiten.

Struktur

Dem Integral Institut gehören Zweige für integrale Psychologie, integrales Management, integrale Politik, integrale Medizin, integrale Ökologie[1], integrale Pädagogik, integrales Recht, integrale Kunst und integrale Spiritualität an. Der Versuch, die Wissensgrundlagen einzelner Gebiete zu integrieren, erschien Wilber notwendig, da seiner Meinung nach die auf dem jeweiligen Gebiet bestehenden unterschiedlichen Ansichten oftmals nur als Teilaspekt der Realität richtig sind.

Die integrale Theorie postuliert, diese Einzelbeobachtungen könnten zu einem vollständigeren Bild der Realität zusammengebracht werden. Dem Integral Institute gehören (bzw. gehörten) u. a. bekannte und prominente Mitglieder wie Francisco Varela, Stuart Davis, Alex Grey, Deepak Chopra, Michael Murphy, Don Beck, Larry Dossey, David Deida, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ed Kowalczyk (von der Musikgruppe Live) an.
