Konkani (कोंकणी) ist ursprünglich ein Dialekt des Marathi, der hauptsächlich in Goa gesprochen wird. Er hat jedoch einen Ausbauprozess durchgemacht und kann deshalb als eigene Sprache gelten. Da Goa mehr als 400 Jahre eine portugiesische Kolonie war, hat Konkani viele portugiesische Ausdrücke aufgenommen. Es sind aber auch Einflüsse der Sprachen des Nachbarstaats Karnataka (Kannada) und Elemente des Hindi bemerkbar, sowie Einflüsse aus dem Englischen.

Konkani hat in Goa offiziellen Status und ist als nationale Sprache in der indischen Verfassung genannt.

Konkani wird normalerweise in Devanagari geschrieben, kann aber auch im lateinischen Alphabet dargestellt werden.
