LOOK (Look Cycle International) ist ein französisches Unternehmen, das ursprünglich Skibindungen herstellte und heute Fahrradkomponenten entwickelt.

Geschichte

Das Unternehmen wurde 1951 in Nevers gegründet, entwickelte Skibindungen und entwickelte sich rasch zu einem Marktführer in diesem Segment.

Die Übernahme der Technik der Skibindungen bei Fahrradpedalen revolutionierte die Pedale in den 1980er Jahren. 1984 brachte die französische Firma LOOK das erste Klickpedal auf den Markt und ein Jahr später gewann Bernard Hinault damit die Tour de France 1985. In diesem Jahr präsentierte LOOK den ersten Fahrradrahmen aus Kohlefaser – und Greg Lemond war bei der Tour de France 1986 erfolgreich mit diesem Carbonrahmen unterwegs.

Man sprach lange von den zwei üblichen Bauarten, Hakenpedalen und Look-Pedalen. Heute ist Look ein etablierter Lieferant von Fahrradkomponenten und Fahrradrahmen. Er beliefert auch das Profiteam Cofidis. 2002 wurde LOOK vom französischen Patentamt mit der INPI-Trophäe für Innovationen geehrt.

2009 führte LOOK die neue Pedaltechnologie Kéo Blade Karbon auf dem Markt ein, wofür die Firma 2010 den iF product design award erhielt.
