Liaoyang (辽阳市) ist eine bezirksfreie Stadt in der nordostchinesischen Provinz Liaoning. Sie hat eine Fläche von 4.741 km² und 1.835.000 Einwohner (2010). 1904 fand hier die Schlacht von Liaoyang im Russisch-Japanischen Krieg statt, die die russische Armee gegen die japanische Armee verlor. Liaoyang ist ein wichtiger Standort der nordostchinesischen Schwerindustrie.

Administrativ setzt sich Liaoyang auf Kreisebene aus fünf Stadtbezirken, einer kreisfreien Stadt und einem Kreis zusammen. Diese sind:

  • Stadtbezirk Baita (白塔区), 24 km², 210.000 Einwohner;
  • Stadtbezirk Wensheng (文圣区), 38 km², 180.000 Einwohner;
  • Stadtbezirk Hongwei (宏伟区), 59 km², 110.000 Einwohner;
  • Stadtbezirk Gongchangling (弓长岭区), 288 km², 90.000 Einwohner;
  • Stadtbezirk Taizihe (太子河区), 148 km², 120.000 Einwohner;
  • Stadt Dengta (灯塔市), 1.331 km², 510.000 Einwohner;
  • Kreis Liaoyang (辽阳县), 2.853 km², 590.000 Einwohner, Hauptort: Großgemeinde Shoushan (首山镇).
