Local Hour Angle

Der Ortsstundenwinkel (eng: Local Hour Angle, LHA) ist ein vom in dem Nautischem Jahrbuch veröffentlichen Greenwicher Stundenwinkel (Grt) abgeleiteter Stundenwinkel. Er bezeiht sich nicht auf Greenwich, sondern auf den Ort des Beobachters. Man erhält den LHA durch Addition der Länge λ des Beobachtungsortes und dem Grt. Östliche Längen werden mit posiviem Vorzeichen, westliche mit negativem beschickt.

Der Ortsstundenwinkel wird neben der Deklination (δ) in der Astronomischen Navigation mittels der HO 249 Tafeln als Argument für die Berechnung der Höhe und des Azimutes im Horizontalen Koordinatensystem benötigt.
