Margaret Lindsay

Margaret Lindsay (* 19. September 1910 in Dubuque, Iowa; † 9. Mai 1981 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien; geborene Margaret Kies) war eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Sie gab ihr Filmdebüt 1932 in Okay, America!. Ihre erste Hauptrolle spielte Margaret Lindsay 1933 an der Seite von William Powell in Der Detektiv und die Spielerin. Einer ihrer größten Erfolge erzielte sie 1938 an der Seite von Bette Davis und Henry Fonda in Jezebel - Die boshafte Lady. In späteren Jahren trat Lindsay auch in Fernsehproduktionen auf, bevor sie sich 1967 weitgehend aus der Öffentlichkeit zurückzog. 1974 hatte sie in einer US-Serie ein kurzes Comeback.

Sie hat einen Stern auf dem Walk of Fame (6318 Hollywood Blvd.). Ihre ältere Schwester war die Schauspielerin Jane Gilbert.

Margaret Lindsay wurde auf dem Friedhof „Holy Cross Cemetery“ in Culver City, Kalifornien begraben.
