Mark Aronoff

Mark Aronoff (* 9. Januar 1949 in Montreal) ist ein Gelehrter der Sprachmorphologie und Professor an der Stony Brook University im US-amerikanischen Bundesstaat New York.

Er erlangte 1974 den akademischen Grad des Doctor of Philosophy, wobei ihm seine Dissertation (Word Formation in Generative Grammar, 1974) den Spitznamen "Vater der modernen Morphologie" einbrachte.

Aronoff war 2005 Präsident der Linguistic Society of America (etwa: Amerikanische Linguistische Gesellschaft) und war von 1995 bis 2001 Herausgeber der Zeitschrift der Vereinigung: Language.
