Archos SA ist ein börsennotierter Hersteller von Computerperipherie, Notebooks und Internet-Tablets. Zu den Produkten gehören vor allem externe Festplatten und Portable Media Player. Das Unternehmen hat seinen Sitz in Igny bei Paris (Frankreich).

Firmengeschichte

Archos SA wurde 1988 von Henri Crohas gegründet, der mit 35 % Anteil am Kapital auch der größte Aktionär ist.

Im Geschäftsjahr 2009 sank der Umsatz auf 58 Mio Euro.

Arnova

Arnova ist ein Markenname der heute eigenständig agierenden Arnova Technology Hong Kong gehört. Dieses Unternehmen war vormals die Archos Technology Hong Kong, China. Designs der Archos Produkte sind lizenziert. Die vorhandenen Fertigungs-Kapazitäten und die Vertriebskanäle von Archos werden mit genutzt.

Zur CeBit 2011 war das Unternehmen erstmals in größerem Umfang als Anbieter am Markt präsent. Produkte wie der Arnova 7, 8 und 10 wurden vorgestellt. Es soll derzeit der Markt für Internet-Tablets im Bereich 100 bis 200 Euro bedient werden, vor allem mit Geräten in denen der eher billige Rockchip arbeitet.[2] Zwischenzeitlich kommt es z.B. zu Kooperationen mit deutschen Supermarktketten für den Vertrieb der Waren.
