Proteus

Proteus ist eine Instant Messenger-Software für Mac OS X. Der Multi-Protokoll-Client, der früher von der Herstellerfirma Defaultware entwickelt wurde, wird heute von Proteusapps unter der GPL vertrieben. Er lässt sich mithilfe von Extras den eigenen Wünschen anpassen, zum Beispiel Emoticons, Dock-Icon und Nachrichtendarstellung. Wie auch Adium benutzt Proteus als Backend libpurple des Pidgin-Teams (vormals Gaim).
